San Francisco Giants Closer Brian Wilson Injured: Digital Brian Wilson In?

After Brian Wilson‘s stellar performance for the World Series Champion San Francisco Giants and his performance in the trailers for the video game MLB 2K11 with Philadelphia Phillies Roy Halladay on the cover, Brian Wilson appears to strained his rib cage, and most likely will not be sidelined for the beginning of the season. From the looks of his injury, it may not be all that serious, and digital Brian Wilson may not have to step in place for him after all.

In the previous season, he led the league with 48 saves, and he had an admirable 1.81 ERA in 2010.  Since he joined the San Francisco Giants in 2006, he has become steadily better and more consistent, other than the erratic season of 2008 where had a 4.62 ERA.  Furthermore, compared to Philadelphia Phillies closer Brad Lidge fantastic season of 2008 after leaving the Houston Astros organization, reliever Lidge had 41 saves and a 1.95 ERA. Brad Lidge still paled in comparison to Brian Wilson statistically, even at his best.

Remember, Philadelphia Phillies fans, Brian Wilson was one of the reasons that the Phillies post-season was cut short last year.  Compounding with the impotent offense into the post-season, Wilson simply closed the deal and shut the doors on the Phillies.

Fear the Beard this season. Again. In the regular season and MLB 2K11.
