Fantasy Football Playoffs: The Best Defense is the Best Offense

This has been a perplexing year for defenses. Some defenses that have been struck as elite has been failing as the season dwindles, and their respective offenses have boomed. The Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers defenses haven’t been playing great lately.  They have just been sufficient, as their offenses have taken over.

With defenses, particularly this season, it is still best to play matchups, but expect the unexpected. Underrated and overlooked defenses such as the Cleveland Browns and the Oakland Raiders defenses have risen to the occasion.  The Raiders defense stifled the San Diego Chargers in NFL week 13, and the Browns defense helped their team win, despite having a crippled roster of quarterbacks.

If you are in the fantasy football playoffs, don’t forget your defense.  And remember that just because it is ranked elite doesn’t mean it will perform as one down the final stretch, particularly if that team’s offense is clicking.
