The Philadelphia Eagles Top the New York Giants and the NFC East

The Philadelphia Eagles won over New York Giants 27-17, and Michael Vick had 258 yards and no touchdowns.  He fell back down to earth after the Washington Redskins game. But it was mostly because the Giants defense ran contain  against Michael Vick for most of the game. The pocket was constantly closing and Vick was under pressure. But Vick won with his feet again near the end of the first quarter, and a fight nearly broke out as well. Throughout the game, the New York Giants constantly reminded Michael Vick of their presence. He got popped quite a few times scrambling in the second quarter onwards. The Eagles defense keyed in on the run and limited the tandem of Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs. Meanwhile, the Giants seem to have shut down the screens they were vulnerable in past few games. Additionally, the Eagles wide receivers kept on dropping passes, and Vick sometimes overthrew. Some luck and some skill kept the Giants within striking distance throughout most the game. The Eagles face a similar defense against the Chicago Bears next week.  The Bears defense will try to contain Michael Vick as well, and slow down the pace of the game.  In the Eagles favor is that the Bears offense is not quite as potent.
