NFL Week 10 in Review: And We Thought We Missed the Arena Football League’s High Scores

Since we missed Arena Football League due to their postponement until 2011, the NFL in week 10 shown us that we need not missed those high-scoring affairs after all.

• What a Monday night football game!  Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick dominated the Washington Redskins completely.  He scored 4 touchdowns passing and 2 touchdowns rushing, and 333 yards passing by himself.  Additionally, the Eagles totaled an amazing 59 points to the Redskins 28, and the Eagles totaled a nearly 600 yards total offense. This was a historical game in all regards.
• The Denver Broncos absolutely decimated the Kansas City Chiefs 49-29.  Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton showed up his arm with 4 touchdowns on 296 yards and was up 35-0 upon the half.   Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel threw for 4 touchdowns for 469 yards, albeit most of it was in “garbage time.”  Wide receivers Brandon Lloyd and Dwayne Bowe for the Broncos and Chiefs respectively had a field day.
• The Dallas Cowboys romped the New York Giants in spectacular fashion 33-20.  Jon Kitna was on fire with 3 touchdowns on 327 yards. Dez Bryant lit up the scoreboard with 104 yards and a touchdown.  This is the return to the dangerous Dallas Cowboys team that we always knew was there this season.
• Jacksonville Jaguars win over the Houston Texans was also amazing with a score of 31-24. Jaguars quarterback David Garrard had a good day.  As well as his counterpart, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub But Garrard’s last Hail Mary pass cemented the game, and it was a miracle catch that quite possibly should have been an interception.
• The New England Patriots domination of the Pittsburgh Steelers in all facets of the game. With New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady leading the way with 350 yards and 3 touchdowns, the defense stepped up, and bothered and sacked Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger all night long.

The high-scoring teams distributed the ball well, depending on their playmakers, whether known or unknown.  In most cases, these teams established the run game early, and it helped the quarterbacks in the end.  With the exception of the Patriots, they established the pass game early, and then relied on BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead to burn out the clock.  Coming in the next few weeks, most teams are coming into the difficult part of their schedule and facing divisonal foes and tough defenses.  This was a stellar week 10 in the NFL.
