Redskins Quarterback Donovan McNabb and His Two Minutes

Donovan McNabb percieved the talk regarding his being benched at the end of the Detroit Lions game last week “hilarious” to ESPN980.  McNabb tried to downplay the incident, similarly to what he’s done before in a Philadelphia Eagles jersey.  Unfortunately, Coach Mike Shanahan and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan did not attempt to defend him, like Eagles head coach Andy Reid did many times for him.

However, Donovan McNabb will face a shadow of his past this Monday night, now Eagles quarterback Michael Vick.  The first time the Redskins won 17-12, and Michael Vick injured his ribs due to his attempt to dive for a touchdown between two Redskins defenders.  Vick should have slid and taken a couple of yards short of the goal line.  But that was then, and this is now…

Michael Vick is now partially healthy for now.  He’s coming into the very defense that broke him.  History could possibly repeat itself with yet another injury.  McNabb knows this, but he also knows Vick’s replacement, Kevin Kolb, can potentially be more dangerous.
